Guides / Point a VPS or server at your subdomain
Point a VPS or server at your subdomain
Give server.name.ajaira.site the IP of your box.
What you need
- A VPS or dedicated server with a public IP.
- An Ajaira subdomain, e.g.
myname.ajaira.site.
Step 1 — Find your server's IP
On the server, run:
curl -4 ifconfig.co # IPv4
curl -6 ifconfig.co # IPv6, if you have one
Step 2 — Add the records
| Type | Name | Value |
|---|---|---|
| A | server | 203.0.113.10 |
| AAAA | server | 2001:db8::1 |
That gives you server.myname.ajaira.site. Use @
as the name instead if you want the bare subdomain to point at the box.
Step 3 — Check it
dig +short server.myname.ajaira.sitessh user@server.myname.ajaira.site
If dig returns nothing, wait for the TTL you set and try again.
